Eligibility and purpose

ServiceLink is for adults arranging or offering lawful trade services. Account holders must be at least 18. It must not be used as a social, dating, emergency, surveillance, debt-collection or general file-sharing service.

Prohibited conduct

  • threatening, stalking, harassing, coercing or intimidating;
  • hateful or discriminatory abuse directed at a person or protected group;
  • sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, grooming, sextortion or non-consensual intimate content;
  • scams, impersonation, deceptive credentials, phishing, malware or attempts to obtain money or access unlawfully;
  • publishing private contact, identity, access or location details to facilitate harm;
  • manipulating reviews, quotes, job status, reports or verification;
  • evading a restriction, interfering with security, scraping restricted data or reverse engineering access controls;
  • retaliating against a person for making a good-faith safety or regulatory report.

Prohibited material

You must not upload, send, link to or solicit:

  • child sexual exploitation or abuse material, pro-terror material, material promoting or instructing serious crime, or other material unlawful to possess or distribute;
  • non-consensual intimate images, covert sexual recordings or threats to share them;
  • credible threats, instructions to cause serious harm, or content intended to cause severe abuse;
  • pornography, graphic high-impact violence, or self-harm material unrelated to legitimate evidence and unsuitable for this adult trade marketplace;
  • content infringing intellectual property, confidentiality, court orders or another person's legal rights.

Prohibited and restricted jobs

  • illegal work or work intended to conceal unlawful activity;
  • regulated work offered by a person without the required current licence, registration or supervision;
  • asbestos, demolition, structural, high-risk, electrical, gas or other hazardous work without required controls and credentials;
  • work involving unlawful entry, surveillance, weapons, explosives, tampering with essential services or evasion of permits and tax;
  • urgent danger presented as an ordinary marketplace job instead of contacting the proper emergency response.

How to report

Use the report control attached to the relevant message, job, image, profile or review when available. Include the content reference, date, reason and any safety context. Preserve ordinary screenshots before blocking if safe to do so.

The complaints centre returns a case number. Contextual report controls are also provided on supported messages and reviews. The dedicated email contact remains unconfigured and must be monitored before launch. Full complaint steps are in the Complaints and Disputes Policy.

Immediate and external help

Do not save or redistribute child sexual abuse material. Report it using eSafety's process.

How ServiceLink responds

  1. Triage for immediate physical danger, child safety, illegal material, credible threats, scams and repeat abuse.
  2. Restrict access to content or contact where reasonably necessary to reduce risk while preserving limited, lawful evidence.
  3. Review context and account history without requiring the reporter to confront the reported user.
  4. Take proportionate action: warning, content removal, communication restriction, credential pause, temporary suspension, permanent removal or referral to a regulator or law enforcement.
  5. Record the report, risk, action, reason, timestamps and review outcome. Protect the reporter's identity where practicable.

Except where urgent action or law prevents it, a user affected by an account decision receives reasons and a fair review pathway. Freedom to express a genuine opinion does not excuse threats, unlawful material or severe abuse.

Service-provider compliance

Under eSafety's current assessment tool, ServiceLink's end-user messaging feature is a relevant electronic service even though messaging is not the marketplace's main purpose. The operator must document that classification, identify any additional service categories and applicable tiers, and keep current a forward-looking risk assessment, code and standard mapping, complaint system, change assessment, moderation procedure, training plan and compliance records.

Publishing this policy does not, by itself, satisfy those operational duties or prove compliance.
